E-Learning & Gamification
Having worked in the training industry for nearly 17 years, I have seen many changes in technology. Keeping a user engaged in a specific courseware has become increasingly difficult in the workplace; Gamification has proven to be a great tool to counteract this.
Gamification is the use of game mechanics, such as points, badges and leaderboards, which are implemented into a non-gaming environment to further engage and motivate people to achieve their goals. I take this further in the adult learning industry by applying behavior change through the use of nostalgic themes. This is accomplished through emulating game play with themed designs and story telling. Incorporating games allows us to break down complex, layered, or "boring" content into manageable chunks. This allows adult learners to quickly become and stay engaged in training and increase retention.
Tools used to develop Gamification and e-Learning: Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate 9, Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe After Effects CC, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe Audition CC, Adobe Animate (formerly Flash) CC, Blender, and Maya.
As an Association for Talent Development (ATD) award recipient in Gamification, I have proven experience and skills to help you in your next project. Contact me if you would like to learn more.
